Accountants should be very pleased! It’s occupation ceiling has about doubled, from 2500 in programme year 2016/17 to 4785 for programme year 2017/18! We also see a general raise in occupation ceilings for ICT professionals.

SkillSelect Round Results Out!

It’s getting tougher. The cut off points score for the Skilled Independent 189 visa was 70 points for the last two invitation rounds, are we aren’t talking about pro rated occupations! This is for generic occupations. That is a whopping 10 points above the minimum points score.

SkillSelect seems to still be having some struggles. Whilst the occupation list problems may have been solved and ICT Security Specialists will be very happy to be able to lodge their applications, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection website is reporting some very curious figures. If these figures are true, ICT Business and Systems Analysts have already exhausted 40% of its allocation with 620 spots given out out of 1574.
